Seriously; both of these pictures... I seriously wish people understood! This is why I am striving SO HARD to spread awareness. This month is actually just for Tourette's! 😁 yay! That's seriously awesome! Anyway... so we all know the stereotypical blurting out obscenities.... well, that is only prevalent in approximately 10% of all confirmed Tourette syndrome cases! Other tics can include hitting oneself, grunting, jerking your head around.... coughing, sniffling... just to name a few! The most common one is the shaking and jerking motions. Let me put it to you this way; have you ever been bit by fire ants? Hard not to scream and cry because it hurts so badly, right?? Think of Tourette's like that! I normally tend to control my tics, but sometimes doing so causes me to have panic attacks. No joke. Especially when I'm medically relaxed to the point I can't move on my own, because my brain is in overdrive trying to tell me to tic, but my body is too relaxed to do so... that basically sums up this post... feel free to give me feedback!
